Dennis Ingram - Sneaker Kings - San Diego, CA

Dennis John Ingram was born in San Diego in the pre-Beatles era. His first musical influence was his mother who used to play their baby grand piano at home and the organ for a local church. He started playing guitar when the Beatles hit the American music scene in 1964. It only took about 6 months and he was playing in a local blues band. He joined another local band called The Forecasters and has been playing professionally ever since. He switched to bass when the Forcasters split up and reformed as K.I.D. After a four year enlistment with the U.S. Air Force he came back to San Diego and attended Mesa College where he earned an Associate Degree in Music. All along he played with various groups in the local area. He got together with Jim at a high school reunion (yes they have been friends since Junior High school days) and played with Steven Freelight, ZZYZX. Then they got together with another high school buddy, John Thompson and played with The Sneaker Kings, with Dennis switching back to the guitar and keyboards. After taking a break for a few years, Jim and Dennis put the Sneaker Kings back together again and Dennis went back to his favorite instrument, the bass. Dennis was inspired to play music by the Beatles, mostly Paul McCartney because of the bass. His influences and favorites are too many to be specific. Rock @ Roll, Blues, Country and Jazz are all reflected in his playing style. Dennis plays a solid bass line that will keep you dancing no matter what the genre.
